Brisbane oh Brisbane

been 2 months  i left Brissy and keep counting.
Recently i heard a really bad news about this lovely city.
2 weeks ago a dead body found near Kurilpa park, South Brisbane. and it was a girl and naked,
i felt soo sad when i heard she is a student and just headed back to her accommodation at 11 pm the last time cctv catched her location. she is international student from France. even though police already found the murder but the reason behind his action still unclear. Brisbane people did many things to show how they concern and care about this accident. as i read, there are many flowers, letters for Ms. coloumbet ( the victim) in Kuril park. as Brisbane known as one of the safest city in the world and become a third biggest and cheapest city after Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, This news became heartbreak news for Brisbane city and destroyed its image.

Many foreign decide to study in Brisbane because of its safest. as alumni of Brisbane university, this was my reason as well to continued my master degree here. well, the crime keeps continue, i just read another bad news from UQ forum that mentioned, one of UQ students got hit by 2 strangers in parking lot area!! He was heading to his car near football field and suddenly 2 men asked to borrow his phone. he answered "no" and the next thing happen so quick. these men hit this guy and took his phone, wallet and car key!! Unfortunately they didnt take his laptop (weird). can you imagine what if it wasnt a guy but a girl. gosh :(

Brisbane city has cctv almost everywhere. In Queen st mall has 40 cctv and in every corner of Brisbane city you can find cctv easily. Unfortunately in the night, there is dark spot that invisible in cctv. Brisbane people are quite nice. no matter how drunk are they, they wont harm you. disturb may be but wont harm you. as student, i had walked home in the mid night, studied late in library, finished project till morning in uni, walked alone and in the darkness, met drunker, took late night bus at 1 or 4 am. i experienced all those things. that is why, for student, those things are common and we never worry.

i'm so sad, nowadays it changed. student being a target and Brisbane not as safe as previously.
Hope it will over soon :(

i still remember friend of mine accidentally left her phone in cotton on store. and she remembered it when she arrived home and the store closed already. the next day she came and she was so surprise found her phone still in the same place, even though she came in the afternoon and it was a busy time for store. non of cotton on's staffs save her phone but it still there. that was an amazing moment and prove Brisbane as safest city.... :(
